Himachal 125 free units: will your bill be zero?

HPSEBL gives a Government subsidy to home connections with a ration card. Up to 125 units a month the bill is zero. From 126 to 300 units the subsidy is smaller. Type your units to see your bill.

Who qualifies

  • Your connection is a domestic connection.
  • HPSEBL shows a ration card on the connection. The subsidy covers two meters for each card. We do not ask about it here.
  • You did not opt out, and the connection is not marked "Without NOC".
  • Group A and B Government employees and pensioners do not get it.

What you get

  • Up to 125 units a month, the bill is zero.
  • Above 125 units, the subsidy is Rs 3.37 a unit on the first 125 units and Rs 1.72 a unit on units 126 to 300. You pay the fixed charge.

If you use more than the limit

At 126 units the zero bill stops and the fixed charge comes back. Units above 300 get no subsidy.

Watch for scams. No official scheme asks you to pay a fee, give an OTP or open a link in a text message. Use only the official links on this page. If someone asks for money to "activate" free units, do not pay.

What we could not confirm

  • News reports in April 2026 said the 126–300 subsidy stopped and then started again. HPSEBL’s page still shows it, so we follow HPSEBL.
  • Above 300 units, HPSEBL’s table keeps the subsidy on the first 300 units. An HPERC letter of 2024 records a withdrawal for that slab. This part is not certain.
