Telangana Gruha Jyothi: will your bill be zero?
Under Gruha Jyothi, an eligible Telangana household gets a zero bill in each month that it uses 200 units or less. Type your units. The checker shows the units you have left and the bill above the limit.
- Zero bill up to 200 units a month
- One connection per household
- Applied through Praja Palana
Check your home
TGSPDCL’s website still shows the 200 free units. The TGERC tariff order for 2026-27 records the Government’s subsidy commitment. We found no new Government Order after G.O.Ms.No.7 of 2024.
Last checked against the official texts: 15 October 2026.
Who qualifies
- Your connection is a domestic (home) connection.
- Your household applied through Praja Palana.
- The order needs a white ration card (Food Security Card) linked to Aadhaar. We do not ask about it here.
- The scheme covers one service connection for each household.
What you get
- In each month that you use 200 units or less, the bill is zero.
- The Government pays the discom in advance. The bill stays in the name of the connection holder.
If you use more than the limit
If you use more than 200 units in a month, the order gives no part subsidy. We show the whole bill for that month.
How to apply
- The Government took applications through Praja Palana. Read the Praja Palana portal for current notices. Open the official page
- For a bill question, go to your discom’s website. Open the official page
We did not find a public page to apply or to check your status. The Praja Palana portal opens only with a department login.
What we could not confirm
- No official text says if the discoms scale the 200 units to the days in the bill. We use the month as you type it.
- A stakeholder in a TGERC hearing said homes lose the benefit above their past use. The discoms’ reply and the Government Order do not say this. We do not apply it.
