BESCOM’s FAQ of July 2026 says the scheme continues and the limits do not change.
Last checked against the official texts: 15 October 2026.
Who qualifies
- Your connection is a domestic (home) connection.
- You registered on the Seva Sindhu portal and linked Aadhaar to the connection.
- You live at the address of the connection. Tenants can register with Aadhaar for the rented address.
What you get
- Your eligible units are your 2022-23 monthly average plus 10%. The highest limit is 200 units.
- If you use your eligible units or less, the bill is zero.
- If you use more than your eligible units but not more than 200, you pay the net bill. The order deducts the amount for your eligible units.
- New connections and homes without a full 2022-23 record get 53 units, the state average.
- The order sets a different limit for some households. Your bill shows your own limit.
If you use more than the limit
If you use more than 200 units in a month, you pay the whole bill for that month. You stay in the scheme. The next month starts again.
How to apply
- Go to the Seva Sindhu portal. Open the official page
- Type your account ID from the bill and your Aadhaar number on the portal.
- Read the scheme page of your discom for the forms and the orders. Open the official page
BESCOM did a verification from 1 July to 31 August 2026. The meter reader came to the home; there was no online verification and no fee. Your benefit continued during the verification.
What we could not confirm
- The orders do not say how the fixed charge and the tax divide when you use more than your eligible units. Our estimate takes off the same share of the whole bill as your eligible units are of your units.
- The 2023 order allows one meter for each person. BESCOM’s July 2026 FAQ says the benefit continues for all meters that complete the verification. Your bill shows what applies to you.
- News reports from 2024 say the limit changed to the average plus 10 units. We did not find an official order for this. BESCOM’s 2026 FAQ still says plus 10%.
