Government schemes in Himachal Pradesh

Schemes that change what a home pays, read from the government order, the regulator’s order or the discom’s own notice. Checked 15 October 2026.

GoHP subsidy for ration-card households In the calculator, switch it on in the form

Domestic consumers flagged with a ration card (subsidy for two meters per card) get a zero bill up to 125 units. Above 125 units the subsidy is Rs 3.37 a unit on the first 125 units and Rs 1.72 a unit on units 126–300 (none on units above 300), and the fixed charge is payable. Not for connections marked "Without NOC", for consumers who opted out, or for Group A and B Government employees and pensioners.

  • News reports in April 2026 said the 126–300 subsidy was withdrawn and then restored; HPSEBL’s own tariff page still shows it, so we follow HPSEBL.
  • Above 300 units HPSEBL’s table keeps the subsidy on the first 300 units, and we follow it. An HPERC letter of 16-10-2024 records a withdrawal of an additional subsidy for that slab, so this part is not certain.

Himachal Pradesh bill questions

How much is the electricity bill for 100 units in Himachal Pradesh?

About ₹629.00 for 100 units in a month, using the current HPERC tariff. Urban, single phase. Electricity duty and the monthly fuel surcharge are not included.

What will 200 or 300 units cost in Himachal Pradesh?

Roughly ₹1,206.75 for 200 units, and ₹1,795.75 for 300 units. Use the calculator above for your exact units and load.

Are Himachal Pradesh domestic slabs telescopic?

Yes. Each band of units is charged at its own rate, so only the units above a slab boundary pay the higher rate.

Which tariff order are these Himachal Pradesh rates from?

HPERC ARR & Tariff Order FY 2026-27 for HPSEBL, dated 25 March 2026, in force from 1 April 2026. A link to the PDF is in the sources box on this page.

What does this estimate leave out?

Tariff before the Himachal Government subsidy; the ration-card subsidy is an option in the form. Electricity duty not included.

Where is the consumer number on my Himachal Pradesh electricity bill?

The name differs by discom. HPSEBL: Consumer Id (12 digits). The table on this page shows where each discom prints it, when its official pages say so.

Where to find your consumer number

Your bill shows a number that identifies your connection. In Himachal Pradesh the discom calls it:

DiscomName on the billDigitsWhere to find itSource
HPSEBLConsumer Id12At the top, in the middle column, on the first line. The legacy account number is below it.HPSEBL bill (sample bill, May 2026)

From the discoms’ own websites, bill guides and sample bills, read on 17 October 2026. Where the source is a sample bill, we read only its layout: the label, the place and the number of digits. A dash means the official page we read does not say. Never share your consumer number with an unknown caller or app.
