Bill amount to units calculator

Type the amount on your electricity bill and choose your state. The tool finds the units that give that bill on today’s tariff, with the same engine as our calculators.

  • Every state and city supplier
  • Today’s tariffs
  • Runs on your device

Work out the units

The tool runs on your phone. Nothing you type leaves your device.

How it works

  • The tool uses your state’s tariff: the slab rates, the fixed charge and the other lines our calculator adds.
  • It tries every unit count, from 0 up, and finds the one whose bill is nearest to your amount.
  • If free units or a scheme make many unit counts give the same bill, it shows the range.
  • Open the calculator from the result to see the bill line by line.

Questions

How do I find units from my electricity bill amount?

Choose your state and type the bill amount. The tool tries every unit count with the calculator for your state, and shows the units that give that bill.

Why do two or more unit counts give the same bill?

Free units or a scheme limit can make a range of units cost the same. Some tariffs also have a big jump at a slab limit. The tool then shows the range.

Why is the answer different from the units on my bill?

Your bill can include lines the calculator does not add, for example a monthly fuel surcharge, duty, arrears or a late fee. Take those out of the amount for a better result.

Is the bill amount the same as the energy charge?

No. The bill adds the fixed charge and other lines to the energy charge. The tool works on the whole bill.
