Questions
How much is the PM Surya Ghar subsidy for 3 kW?
For 3 kW the central subsidy is ₹78,000. In a special category state or UT it is ₹85,800.
Is there a subsidy above 3 kW?
No. The central subsidy stops at 3 kW. A 5 kW system gets the same ₹78,000 as a 3 kW system.
How many units does a 3 kW system make?
About 300 units a month on average. The Union Cabinet note says a 3 kW system makes more than 300 units a month. Your roof, the season and shade change this.
Does my State give more?
Some States add their own subsidy. This calculator shows the central subsidy only. Ask your State nodal agency or discom.
Where do I apply?
On the national portal, pmsuryaghar.gov.in. Do not pay anyone to "approve" a subsidy. The portal and your discom do this.
