What is state regulatory commission?
A State Electricity Regulatory Commission sets tariffs and consumer rules for discoms; a Joint Commission does this for some states and UTs. Also called SERC, JERC, State Commission, Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission, electricity regulatory commission.

State regulatory commission on your bill
Each state has a commission, such as TNERC or MERC. It decides tariffs, supply codes and service standards.
A Joint Commission serves more than one state or UT. JERC for Goa and UTs is one example.
The commission also appoints the Electricity Ombudsman.
Commissions publish tariff petitions and hold public hearings. You can send objections.
Read your commission's tariff order and supply code. They are the rules your discom must follow.
