Wheeling charge on your bill
Wheeling is the use of a licensee's network to carry electricity. The commission sets the wheeling charge.
Most bills include it in the tariff. Maharashtra shows it as a separate line in rupees per unit.
Example (MSEDCL homes, FY 2026-27): Rs 1.60 a unit x 250 units = Rs 400.
Open-access users who buy power from others also pay wheeling charges.
Count the wheeling line when you compare your bill with the tariff.
