Prompt payment rebate on your bill
The Rights of Consumers Rules ask commissions to set an incentive for online payment.
Tariff orders also give rebates for early payment, advance payment or prepaid meters.
Example (Chhattisgarh): an advance of Rs 1,000 left with the licensee at month end earns 0.75%, or Rs 7.50.
The rebate usually shows as a minus line, on this bill or the next one.
Check the rebate rules in your tariff order. Some rebates do not stack with others.
