FAC is Maharashtra's monthly fuel adjustment, charged per unit and by slab for homes. Also called fuel adjustment cost, FCA.

FAC on your bill
MSEDCL and other Maharashtra licensees bill FAC each month. MERC must approve it first.
The bill shows FAC as its own line, in rupees per unit (kWh or kVAh).
Example (September 2026, homes): Rs 0.25 a unit up to 100 units and Rs 0.50 for 101-300. For 250 units: 100 x 0.25 + 150 x 0.50 = Rs 100.
Duty in Maharashtra is also charged on FAC. So FAC raises the duty line a little.
Check the current FAC on MSEDCL's notices or its bill calculator.
