We use the FPPAS from the CESC notice for September 2026 (8.2%), on energy + fixed charge. It changes each month.
The calculator does not add electricity duty. The State Finance Department lists nil up to 300 units a month and 10% from 301 units. We have not read the notification.
The calculator does not add meter rent or take off the rebates for paying on time or online.
CESC home tariff
Rate G: Domestic (other than lifeline). Each block of units has its own rate.

- Fixed charge
- ₹15 a month for each kVA of sanctioned load.
- Meter rent
- ₹10 a month for a single-phase meter, as CESC’s FAQ lists it. The calculator does not add it.
- Discounts
- 1% if you pay by the due date, and 1% more for paying online. The calculator does not take them off.
- Tariff order
- WBERC has not issued a 2026-27 order. The 2025-26 rates stay in force until it does.
- FPPAS (fuel surcharge)
- 8.2% of the energy and fixed charges, September 2026 notice. CESC sets it each month.
- Electricity duty
- Nil up to 300 units a month. From 301 units, 10% on all the energy, fixed and FPPAS charges, not only on the units above 300 (State Finance Department).
We have not read a current notification, so the calculator does not add it.

Same home, same options, on the two tariffs. Only the CESC column applies to CESC homes. Each tariff includes the charges our calculator can confirm, as listed on its page. The WBSEDCL tariff bills every 3 months, so its column shows the bill for that many months divided by 3. The CESC column includes FPPAS (8.2%). The WBSEDCL column has no fuel charge, and it takes off the State subsidy that the WBSEDCL calculator applies.

Why is a CESC bill different from a WBSEDCL bill?
WBERC sets a separate tariff for CESC. Its slabs, fixed charge and FPPAS are different. Use this calculator, not the West Bengal state calculator.
What is the FPPAS on my CESC bill?
It is a charge for changes in the cost of fuel and power purchase. CESC sets it, and it can change each month. Type the value on your bill into the calculator.
What is the CESC complaint number?
CESC lists 1912 on its official site, and 033-3501-1912. 1912 is the national number for power complaints.
How do I pay my CESC bill online?
Use the official payment page on the CESC website or the CESCAPPS app. Do not share OTPs or card details on other sites.
