  • Checked 16 October 2026

Contact TGSPDCL, TGNPDCL

The steps, in order

  1. Complain to your discom

    • Register the complaint at the Customer Service Centre (CSC) first, or call 1912.
    • Write down your complaint number.
  2. Go to the CGRF

    • TGSPDCL has CGRF-I for rural districts and CGRF-II for Greater Hyderabad.
    • Both TGSPDCL forums sit at GTS Colony, Vengalrao Nagar, Erragadda, Hyderabad 500045.
    • TGNPDCL consumers go to the TGNPDCL CGRF at Warangal.
    • Write the complaint on plain paper with full details, or file on the online portal.
    • You pay no fee to file a complaint with the forum.
    • We read the forum time limits from a scanned copy. See the notes below.
  3. Appeal to the Ombudsman

    • Send the appeal to the Vidyut Ombudsman, 1st Floor, 33/11 kV Sub-Station, Boats Club Lane, Lumbini Park, Hyderabad 500063.
    • We read the appeal time, deposit and decision time from a scanned copy. See the notes below.

Compensation you can get

We could not confirm the amounts from a readable copy of the regulation.

Telangana's Standards of Performance (TSERC Regulation 5 of 2016) require a claim, but we read them from a scanned copy, so we list no amounts.

If you think the meter is wrong

  • Report the meter fault at the Customer Service Centre or on 1912.
  • The national rules require a test within 30 days of your complaint.
  • If the readings do not match your use, the discom must install a check meter within 5 days.
  • We did not find the Telangana meter testing fee.

What we could not confirm

  • We read TSERC Regulation 3 of 2015 from a scanned copy. It says the forum decides in 15 days for non-supply and disconnection, and 45 days for others.
  • The same scanned copy gives 45 days to appeal to the Ombudsman, and a deposit of one third of the amount the forum assessed.
  • It also says the Ombudsman decides within 60 days. Amendments of 2018 and 2021 are unread and may change these figures.
  • We read the Standards of Performance (Regulation 5 of 2016) from a scanned copy. It shows Rs 200 per day for late meter replacement and Rs 100 per day for late bill complaints.
  • The same copy says you claim compensation within 30 days of the failure. Check this with your discom.
  • The 2016 new-connection time of 30 days is older than the 2024 national rules.
  • We did not find the meter testing fee.
