Power factor on your bill
Motors and some appliances draw extra current that does no work. This lowers the power factor.
Power factor = kWh / kVAh. Example: 900 kWh and 1,000 kVAh give a power factor of 0.9.
Commissions add a surcharge for a low power factor. Some give an incentive for a high one.
Chhattisgarh gives an incentive at 0.90 and above.
Fit capacitors on motor loads. Ask an electrician to check the power factor.
