What is connected load?
Connected load is the total rated wattage of all the equipment wired to your connection. Also called CL, total connected load.

Connected load on your bill
Add the rated watts of every appliance, light and socket load in the premises. The total is the connected load.
Example: four fans of 75 W, a 200 W fridge, a 100 W TV and 100 W of lights give 700 W, or 0.7 kW.
Connected load is not the same as what you use at one time. The sanctioned load is the load that the discom agreed to supply.
Some tariffs use connected load to set the category or the fixed charge. Gujarat's Non-RGP fixed charge uses connected load.
Declare the correct load when you apply. Ask the discom to update it when you add large appliances.
