We use the FAC slab rates from the BEST notice for October 2026. FAC changes each month: enter the FAC from your bill to replace them.
We take duty on fixed + energy + wheeling + FAC, as MSEDCL’s calculator does. The calculator does not take off the discounts for early or online payment.
BEST home tariff
LT I(B): Residential (other than BPL). Each block of units has its own rate.

- Fixed charge
- Single phase: ₹90 a month up to 100 units, ₹135 for 101 to 500 units, ₹160 above 500 units. Three phase: ₹160. Add ₹250 for each 10 kW (or part) above 10 kW.
- Wheeling charge
- ₹1.82 a unit, on every unit. It pays for the wires.
- Tax on sale of electricity
- 35.94 paise a unit, from 1 December 2025 (Government of Maharashtra notification of 19 December 2025).
- Discounts
- 1% if you pay within 7 days of the bill date, and 0.25% for paying online (up to ₹500). The calculator does not take them off.
- FAC (fuel adjustment)
- October 2026: ₹0.40 (up to 100 units), ₹1.05 (101–300), ₹1.80 (301–500), ₹1.90 (above 500) a unit. BEST sets it each month.
- Electricity duty
- 16% of the fixed, energy, wheeling and FAC charges (Maharashtra Electricity Duty Act 2016).

Why is a BEST bill different from an MSEDCL bill?
MERC sets a separate tariff for BEST. Its slabs, fixed charge and FAC are different. Use this calculator, not the Maharashtra state calculator.
What is the FAC on my BEST bill?
It is a charge for changes in the cost of fuel and power purchase. BEST sets it, and it can change each month. Type the value on your bill into the calculator.
What is the BEST complaint number?
BEST lists 022-22085888 on its official site, and 022-22082875. 1912 is the national number for power complaints.
How do I pay my BEST bill online?
Use the official payment page on the BEST website. Do not share OTPs or card details on other sites.
